About Southern Elite

Southern Elite Jiu-Jitsu was founded by Noah Wyatt, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt and active law enforcement professional serving with the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office.

Noah began training in 2016 during his freshman year of high school and has dedicated nearly a decade to the study and practical application of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

He is TCOLE certified, a licensed TCOLE Instructor, and serves as a Defensive Tactics Instructor for patrol deputies and members of the Special Response Team (SRT).

Class sizes are intentionally limited to maintain structure and coaching quality.

Law Enforcement Training

We offer structured, control-first grappling instruction for law enforcement and first responders. Sessions can be tailored for patrol, corrections, and specialized teams, with an emphasis on safety, policy-friendly tactics, and repeatable fundamentals.

Defensive Tactics (Grappling)

Clinching, takedown safety, ground survival, and positional control concepts that scale to your agency’s SOPs.

Handcuffing & Control

Control positions, transitions, and team-based pinning to improve cuffing success while reducing injury risk.

I’ve never trained before. Is this beginner friendly?

Yes. We run a structured onboarding path and coach you through what to do so you can start safely and progress fast.

What do I wear to my first class?

T-shirt and athletic shorts/leggings (no zippers). Arrive 10 minutes early and we’ll guide you.

Is jiu-jitsu safe for kids?

Safety comes from structure: clear rules, controlled drilling, and coaching that prioritizes fundamentals and awareness.

Do you offer Family Plans?

Absolutely! We believe Jiu-Jitsu is one of the best things a family can do together. Therfore, we offer family plans which are at a discounted rate.
